Gruss,

Hello

Perhaps someone could advise me. I'm having some problems with original efi system. Works well but it's almost impossible to start when cold. I have extra set of Mikuni 34mm flatslides which I have never tested on my bike. The engine is from -84 GPZ and bored to 1200cc. Runs fine with original efi but I don't want to play with it anymore. What do you suggest? and how about performance any difference between efi or carbs..

Thanks for helping..

Got some problems after 25000 km and a long hard ride to Danmark.
Engine started to consume oil and lost its power. Discovered that piston 2&3 had a broken ring and the oilrings were melted into the pistongroove. The problem was of course the heat during my hard long ride.

Think that the 1075cc wiseco kit is a bad solution in the R/J barrel.

Have now mounted a GPZ1100B barrel with Wiseco 1135 pistons and camshafts from the GPZ1100UT, which give me about 125HK.
Have installed a oilcooler from a Zephyr1100 to help with heat transfer and a Dyno 2000 ignition system adjusted to 37 degrees advance.

The Zephyr1100 oilcooler is easy to install, the hoseconnectors are the same, you only have to make some brackets to the frame.

Hopefully this will help to avoid future heat problems

I think the best dimensions on the original wheel are 100/90x19 on front & 130/80x18 on rear;
the 100/90x19 on front is enough for this small spoke wheel ( only 1,85" large...) 110 is good too , but is lightly "pinched" , with 100 you are sure that all of the tyre is on the road...
personally I use this on my "original" R , on my modified 1135R , I use a set of GPZ 750 ( 1983 ) wheels, with 18" front wheel the tyres are 100/90x18 and 130/80x18 ;
I use Bridgestone BT45 , Dunlop D 501 F / R or Pirelli Sport Demon ; all of this are really good no problem you can drive fast .... ( 240 km/h is not a problem .....)
Tank was originally on a dealers show bike that was converted to racing, so the original tank went back in the box.
Will post an ad on ebay soon but will let this forum get a chance to secure this rarity first. This part has not been available from Kawasaki for decades.

Hi Ralf,
